Danny & Kirsty on the 120 Octane Podcast

Aug 19, 2026 | Company News

We were recently featured on 120 Octane, a podcast hosted by Avi Slavin and Alexandra Jacobo that profiles founders and operators who have built real AI systems in production. No hype, no theory, just a look at what people have actually built and what it took to get there. That focus is what made this conversation different from most of the podcast interest we get: they wanted to know how the system actually works, not just the pitch.

We've embedded the episode below.

From dealership floor to builder

Danny has spent 35 years in the automotive industry, starting out as a wholesaler and working his way up to Dealer Principal, and that background shapes most of the episode. He talks through what dealership social media actually looks like from the inside: the posting that's supposed to happen every day, the reality that it's usually the first thing to slip once the floor gets busy, and the breaking point that turned him from someone living with that problem into someone who decided to fix it.

It's the same origin story that runs through everything we build. The platform didn't start as a piece of software looking for a market. It started with an operator who knew exactly what wasn't working and had the standing to see why every existing option (an agency retainer, a marketing hire, a generic scheduling tool) fell short for a dealership our size.

What the episode covers

Danny and Kirsty walk Avi and Alexandra through how the system actually works, live: a vehicle triggers a change (it arrives on the lot, its price drops) and the system picks that up, generates branded content, and posts it automatically. No manual step in the middle.

The conversation also gets into where AI is doing the work and where it's deliberately rules and automation instead, which is a distinction we care about a lot internally and don't always get asked about publicly. From there, Danny walks through what happened when the system went to its first dealer, and how the lead volume and cost stacked up against an agency retainer or an in-house marketing hire.

The operator and the builder

One thread that runs through the whole episode is the partnership itself: Danny as the operator who lived the problem, Kirsty as the technical lead who builds and runs the system. Avi and Alexandra spend some time on how that dynamic actually works day to day, which is a fair question. A lot of AI products get built by technical founders looking for a problem. Auto Lot Impact went the other way.

If you've got a broken process in your own corner of the industry and have wondered whether it's fixable, this episode is worth your time.
